The National Backward
Classes Finance & Development
Corporation (NBC-
FDC) is a Government of India
Undertaking under the aegis
of Ministry of Social Justice &
Empowerment. It was incorporated
as a Company not for profit
under Section 25 of the Companies
Act 1956, with an objective to
promote economic and developmental
activities for the benefit
of Backward Classes and to assist
the poorer section of these classes,
living below double the poverty
line, in skill development and self
employment ventures.
The main objective of the Skill
Development Programme is to
upgrade the skill of the target
group to enable them to start income
generating activities of their
own or get gainfully employed in
some sector or the other.
However, keeping in view
the massive number of trainees,
the Corporation would need
adequate financial assistance
to enhance the basic infrastructure
as well as to meet training
expenditure.
The major activities proposed to
cover are as under :-
• Services Sector
• Agriculture and Allied
Activities
• Traditional activities being
pursued by the Backward
Classes
• Entrepreneurship
Development Programmes
for the potential entrepreneurs
with loan assistance under
NBCFDC loan schemes
The NBCFDC implements Training
Scheme in collaboration with
Kumari Selja, Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment interacting with a
backward class beneficiary from Haryana financed under NBCFDC Schemes.
