Moreover, emphasis was placed on the role of
Euro-coordinator, both in the area of educational
and organisational work, as well as promotion of
the library’s operations among adults, with special
focus on older people.
As a result, the number of classes has been
increased and programme offer of computer
courses for older people has been expanded. In
cooperation with the local U3A, English courses
are still being offered. Senior citizens who wish to
improve the art of telling their own and other interesting
stories can attend classes for story-tellers
organised in cooperation with the ‘Studnia’ group.
The number of lectures and workshops for adults
interested in broadening their knowledge on interesting
events from the world of science, arts
and culture under the WSZECHNICA programme
has been extended and tailored to the needs of
the elderly. Each year, as part of the Festival of Science
the Library organises intercultural workshops
for adult residents of Warsaw.
Publishing activity and collecting foreign
language and multimedia materials
Another important result of the experience
gained under European cooperation is the development
of diversified publishing activity of the library.
Works published by our institution aim to preserve
for future generations the history of the district
of Ursus and its surroundings from the perspective
of memoirs published by senior citizens.
