should be aware that course packets are dynamic as faculty members update their course<br />
materials each time they teach. <strong>The</strong>refore, course packets should not be resold. Students<br />
interested in posting personal messages such as items for sale, lost and found<br />
information, non-<strong>Chicago</strong> GSB sponsored functions, and/or selling textbooks should do<br />
so through the marketplace on the <strong>Chicago</strong> GSB Bulletin Board on the portal at<br />
http://portal.chicagogsb.edu. <strong>The</strong> <strong>Chicago</strong> GSB Bulletin Boards are password protected<br />
and only members <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Chicago</strong> GSB community may access them.<br />
HARPER CENTER ACCESS CARD<br />
<strong>Ph</strong>.D. <strong>Program</strong> students are provided a photo Harper Center access card which allows<br />
building access during non-public hours as well as access to the <strong>Ph</strong>.D. Computer lab, the<br />
<strong>Ph</strong>.D. carrel rooms, the Andrew M. and Sharon Sadow Alper Student Study and group study<br />
rooms. Access to floors 3, 4, and 5 are restricted outside <strong>of</strong> normal business hours and <strong>Ph</strong>.D.<br />
students must use the card in the elevator or stairways to access these floors. Students are<br />
expected to carry the Harper Center access card as well as the <strong>Chicago</strong> Card (UCID) while<br />
inside the Harper Center as they may be asked to show their card as pro<strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Chicago</strong> GSB<br />
student status. To report and replace lost or stolen Harper Center access cards, <strong>Ph</strong>.D. <strong>Program</strong><br />
students should visit GSB Facilities and Operations Department, HC 114.<br />
APPROPRIATE USE OF CHICAGO GSB CAMPUSES<br />
Specific areas within the Gleacher and Harper Centers are designated for the exclusive use <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>Chicago</strong> GSB students, staff, faculty, and guests <strong>of</strong> the school’s administration. Examples <strong>of</strong><br />
these areas are: computing services/labs, Internet stations, student group study rooms, student<br />
lounges, and quiet study areas. Any use <strong>of</strong> <strong>Chicago</strong> GSB campuses not directly related to the<br />
academic mission <strong>of</strong> the school must be approved by the deans or designated staff.<br />
Commercial use or the seeking <strong>of</strong> personal gain through use <strong>of</strong> any and all <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>Chicago</strong> assets or resources (for example, equipment, facilities, confidential information,<br />
Internet access, networks, databases, and e-mail systems) for business not related to the<br />
<strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Chicago</strong> is not allowed. Students, or guests <strong>of</strong> students, who violate the above<br />
policies will be subject to <strong>Chicago</strong> GSB disciplinary procedures outlined in the Student<br />
Handbook.<br />
Appropriate Use <strong>of</strong> Harper Center<br />
Harper Center (HC) is the focal point <strong>of</strong> the GSB’s academic and social community and it is<br />
to be utilized by GSB students, faculty, and staff to participate in the GSB’s academic and<br />
community programs. Social and nonacademic events held in HC should support both the<br />
GSB’s educational and community aims. <strong>The</strong> HC is not a substitute for other venues that<br />
support social activities inappropriate for an educational facility such as bars, clubs, or<br />
gambling establishments.<br />
GUIDELINES FOR GROUP STUDY ROOMS<br />
Harper Center<br />
<strong>The</strong> spaces for which these guidelines apply are the group study rooms located on the<br />
classroom level <strong>of</strong> the Harper Center.<br />
1. Only registered GSB students are authorized to use the Harper Center group study rooms.<br />
2. Rooms are reserved online via EZBook, (ezbook.com/chicagogsb), up to seven days in<br />
