Ph.D. Program Guidebook 2007-2008
• If one of the group members leaves and needs to reclaim their student ID, a different
member of the study group must provide his/her ID. If another student is not present, the
sole remaining student must relinquish the room.
• During times of high demand, a waitlist will be maintained and pagers will be
distributed. Any student/group signing the wait list will be paged when the next group
study room becomes available. If a minimum of 2 group members are not present within
15 minutes of being paged, their request will be forfeited and the room will be given to
the next group on the list.
General Guidelines
• Rooms may be occupied for a period of THREE (3) HOURS, after which, a
student/group may continue to use a study room if there is no demand. When demand
exceeds supply, the security desk will keep a waitlist and will inform the groups who
have exceeded the three-hour limit that they must relinquish the room. If a student/group
refuses to leave the room, a Director in the Evening MBA and Weekend MBA Programs
Office will be notified to enforce the policy.
• Rooms are accessible for student use from building opening until one-half hour before
the building’s published closing time.
• While eating and drinking are permitted in the study rooms, students are expected to
keep the study rooms clean.
• If the room key is not returned or any other abuse of privileges takes place, building
security will record the student’s name on a violation log and notify the
Evening MBA and Weekend MBA Programs Office. The matter will then be handled
accordingly. Repeat offences could result in the loss of study room privileges for up to
two quarters.
• Any violation of this policy is a violation of our professional standards and subject to a
disciplinary process.
