WALKING MAKES UP A GREATER PERCENT OF TRIPS TO WORK THAN CYCLING and<br />
the number of people who walk to work varies more from state to state than state variations<br />
in bicycle trips. Alaska has the highest pedestrian mode share <strong>for</strong> trips to work with 6.6% of<br />
all work trips by foot. Alabama ranks lowest with only 1.2% of all work trips by foot. New York<br />
and Vermont rank second and third after Alaska with 5.6% and 5.2% of trips to work by foot<br />
respectively.<br />
