clients <strong>the</strong>y already serve. A director <strong>at</strong> one organiz<strong>at</strong>ion said,<br />
So instead <strong>of</strong> in <strong>the</strong> next year saying we served 7,000 and <strong>the</strong>n 14,000 we wanted to say, “No, no. The<br />
number served actually went down but <strong>the</strong> services accessed went up.”<br />
On <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r hand, several <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> organiz<strong>at</strong>ions were committed to opening new loc<strong>at</strong>ions, serving new<br />
clients, and adding new programs in new areas <strong>of</strong> training.<br />
A few o<strong>the</strong>r areas for growth were identified by <strong>the</strong> organiz<strong>at</strong>ions. Two <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> six organiz<strong>at</strong>ions expressed<br />
a desire to expand <strong>the</strong>ir employer rel<strong>at</strong>ionships, one specifically in terms <strong>of</strong> employer presence on <strong>the</strong>ir<br />
board. Two additional organiz<strong>at</strong>ions will focus on expanding <strong>the</strong>ir measurement and d<strong>at</strong>a collection<br />
efforts in order to improve d<strong>at</strong>a tracking for program evalu<strong>at</strong>ion and to implement a new d<strong>at</strong>a tracking<br />
program, which <strong>the</strong>y view as essential to securing funding and evalu<strong>at</strong>ing program success. Organiz<strong>at</strong>ions<br />
can monitor <strong>the</strong>ir progress toward <strong>the</strong>ir goals by tracking <strong>the</strong>ir number <strong>of</strong> services, employer partnerships,<br />
and clients served each year, and tracking whe<strong>the</strong>r any changes in numbers align with <strong>the</strong> type <strong>of</strong> growth<br />
<strong>the</strong>y desire. Whichever direction organiz<strong>at</strong>ions decide to grow, a commitment to <strong>the</strong>ir mission provides<br />
<strong>the</strong> backbone for all potential change.<br />
