Participants must be below a ninth grade level in m<strong>at</strong>h or reading<br />
and be ei<strong>the</strong>r a CHA resident with a FamilyWorks provider or a<br />
WIA-eligible low-income adult.<br />
Adults interested in an occup<strong>at</strong>ion in <strong>the</strong> health industry<br />
Garfield Workforce Center<br />
The Garfield Workforce Center <strong>of</strong>fers employment assistance<br />
through employment counseling, job prepar<strong>at</strong>ion and coaching,<br />
resume development, and interviewing skills workshops and<br />
facilit<strong>at</strong>es enrollment into occup<strong>at</strong>ional training th<strong>at</strong> leads to<br />
employment in in-demand fields with wages th<strong>at</strong> lead to selfsufficiency.<br />
Funding and program oper<strong>at</strong>ions are annual.<br />
Current caseload <strong>of</strong> 700 adults and disloc<strong>at</strong>ed workers<br />
Participants must be <strong>Chicago</strong> residents, <strong>at</strong> least 18 years old and low<br />
income during <strong>the</strong> 12 months prior to applic<strong>at</strong>ion or recently laid <strong>of</strong>f<br />
from employment.<br />
