6.2 Specifications For Metering PTs and CTs<br />

Metering PTs<br />

Ratio : Vs / √3V<br />

0 / √3V<br />

* where Vs is the supply voltage given to the consumer<br />

Class : 0.5<br />

Burden : 100VA minimum.<br />

Sharing can be allowed provided separate fusing is provided and the burden of the shared load<br />

shall not exceed 10 VA. If the burden of the shared load is more than 10 VA, then 200 VA PT<br />

shall be used.<br />

Unit : 3 Nos. for each feeder<br />

Standards : BS.3941 or IEC 60044-2 (1997)<br />

Metering CTs<br />

For consumer taking 6.6kV, 11kV, 22kV and 33kV (Indoor breaker)<br />

Ratio : Is/5A<br />

* where Is is the primary ratio of the metering CT<br />

Class : 0.2<br />

Burden : 15VA<br />

Unit : 3 Nos. for each feeder<br />

Standards : BS.7626 or IEC 60044-1 (1996)<br />

For consumer taking 33kV (with outdoor breaker), 132kV and 275kV,<br />

Ratio : Is/1A<br />

* where Is is the primary ratio of the metering CT<br />

Class : 0.2<br />

Burden : 30VA<br />

Unit : 3 Nos. for each feeder<br />

Standards : BS.7626 or IEC 60044-1 (1996)<br />

6.3 Test Certificate<br />

All metering CTs and PTs together with the Manufacturer’s Test Certificate shall be submitted with test results of the<br />

installed equipment by the Registered Service Engineer. The schematic and wiring diagram of the particular consumer’s<br />

switchgear signed by a Professional Engineer shall be supplied to facilitate metering equipment installation.<br />
