Booklet of Chefs' Recipes<br />

for Healthy Nutrition<br />

a healthy lifestyle, the ICA<br />

Marketing Dept. produced a<br />

special booklet containing<br />

Chefs' healthy recipes as<br />

part of the Passover mailing<br />

sent to ICA supporters.<br />

booklet entered the ICA<br />

publications database and<br />

is distributed free of charge<br />

to the general public.<br />

Isreal Cancer Association<br />

<strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Report</strong> <strong>2006</strong><br />

subject in conjunction with the Israeli Society<br />

for Clinical Oncology and Radiotherapy; later<br />

on additional letters were formulated, one of<br />

them written along with the Directors of other<br />

large non profit social welfare organizations.<br />

The ICA, working in close collaboration with the<br />

National Oncology Council, played a significant<br />

role in gaining the many achievements that were<br />

accomplished in the inclusion of oncological<br />

drugs in the health package.<br />

Joint Activity with Science Seeking<br />

Youth Group<br />

In an attempt to expand its activities and influence,<br />

the Information and Education Dept. has<br />

begun joint activity with the Science Seeking<br />

Youth Group. As part of this activity, geared<br />

toward elementary to high school pupils, ICA<br />

counselors will join in on cancer related activities,<br />

smoking and sun exposure prevention, and<br />

they will hold joint seminars with senior lecturers<br />

under the auspices of the ICA.<br />

Avi Etgar Headed National Campaign<br />

for the Collection of Fountain<br />

Pens for the ICA<br />

Broadcaster Avi Etgar, launched a national<br />

campaign to collect fountain pens from the<br />

general population for the ICA, on his program<br />

"Etgar's Choice Selection", which airs on Saturday<br />

afternoon on Reshet Bet on the Voice of Israel<br />

(Israel's official radio station). This collection<br />

campaign was held with assistance from "IPC<br />

– the Israel Pen Club". The pens were renewed<br />

and artistically redesigned by pen experts from<br />

the "Israel Pen Club" who breathed new life into<br />

them, and were then auctioned and sold to the<br />

highest bidder. The proceeds from the public<br />

auction went to the ICA towards the fight against<br />

cancer diseases in Israel.<br />

ICA wins Roaring Lion Award<br />

in the Non-Profit Organizations<br />

Category<br />

For the second year in a row, the ICA won First<br />

Place in the Non-Profit Organizations Category<br />

and was presented with the Roaring Lion Award<br />

at the annual event held by the public relations<br />

industry in Israel, initiated by the Israel Public Relations<br />

and Spokespersonship Association.<br />

The prize which was presented to Nava Inbar,<br />

ICA Spokesperson, was awarded for the PR<br />

campaign for the ICA Mobile Mammography<br />

Unit as well as for the PR for the <strong>Annual</strong> Door<br />

Knock Fundraising Campaign 2005. The prize<br />

was awarded in early July at a special event<br />

convening the public relations industry in Israel,<br />

at the new Cameri Theater Auditorium in Tel<br />

Aviv. This competition aims to promote excellence<br />

among those engaged in public relations,<br />

spokespersonship and media consultation in<br />

Israel. PR campaigns implemented during 2005<br />

were submitted in the competition.<br />

At the event, 11 Roaring Lion awards were<br />

presented to campaign according to various<br />

categories, and the winners were presented<br />

with the Roaring Lion statuette, designed by<br />

sculptor and PR man, Moshe Dayan. The<br />

winner of the Campaign of the Year Award was<br />

the Israeli Teachers Struggle for a Reform in the<br />

Education System, a campaign conducted by<br />

Gitam Porter Novelli, on behalf of the Israel<br />

Teachers Union. This campaign was selected<br />

out of all the campaigns that won in different<br />

categories.<br />

The ICA won an International<br />

Prize Awarded by the Center for<br />

Association Leadership<br />

The ICA won a very prestigious prize for its<br />

endeavors in the fight against cancer in Israel,<br />

presented by the Center for Association Leadership<br />

in the United States, which engages in<br />

empowering leading organizations and associations<br />

throughout the globe. Each year, the Center for<br />

Association Leadership awards prizes to social<br />

welfare organizations and associations across<br />

the globe that have accomplished outstanding<br />

achievements with the aim of creating a better<br />

world. The prize, in addition to being awarded
