years ago, and has been recently published in
a renewed and up to date edition for parents
of children who have cancer, children coping
with the disease, and their families, in order to
help them contend with all aspects of cancer.
This booklet serves as a comprehensive and
was written in order to help patients and their
families in expanding their knowledge about
hereditary cancer syndromes.
Children and Young People with
Cancer
In recent years, there has been an increase in
cancer recovery rates among children. Many
treatment methods exist today, which may in
most cases facilitate full recovery, an increase
in life expectancy for the patient, and a return
to the normal routine of childhood, or periods of
respite from the disease. It should be borne in
mind that treatment of different types of cancer
disease during childhood places complicated
broad based guide and deals with diagnostic
methods, detection, treatment and ways of
coping with cancer diseases that are prevalent
among children and youth.
