Remodeled Waiting Area at Assaf
Harofeh Hospital
Renovations on the patio at the center of the
Assaf Harofeh Hospital were completed, making
the waiting area more comfortable and pleasant
for cancer patients and their families waiting for
a medical examination or chemotherapy.

Establishment of Refael Hadar
Clinic at the Rabin Medical Center
March 2006 saw the inauguration of the Rafael
Hadar Clinics Wing at the Davidoff Center at
the Rabin Medical Center.
Dr. D. Oppenheim, Director of the Rabin medical
Center, Mrs. Suzy Eban, Founding President of
the Israel Cancer Association, Prof. E. Robinson,
ICA Chairman, Ms. M. Ziv, ICA Director General,
representatives of the deceased's family, estate
managers and additional representatives from
the Medical Center and the ICA were present
at the Wing inauguration ceremony.
Blood Test Room and Lab at Davidoff
Center, Rabin Medical Center
March 2006 saw the inauguration of the Blood
Test Room and Lab established at the Davidoff
Center for the treatment and research of cancer
diseases, as a token of appreciation for Mrs.
Suzy Eban, Founding President of the ICA, for
the donation that she obtained from the last
will and testament of Joan Thor-Cummings of
blessed memory.
Activity and Support Center and
New Headquarters for the Haifa
Branch
Renovations on the Rosenfeld House, received
from the Haifa Municipality and defined as a
structure to be preserved, were completed
during the second half of 2006.
The building renovation was made possible
thanks to the generous contribution of Linda
R. Kaminow who dedicated the building in the
memory of her late parents Claire and Emanuel
G. Rosenblatt. In July the Haifa Branch relocated
to the new building.
Renovation and Expansion of the
Mammography Institute at Barzilai
Hospital in Ashkelon
In mid September 2006, a new Mammography
Institute opened in the Imagining Wing of Barzilai
Hospital in Ashkelon. The new Institute is situated
within the Imagining Wing at the Medical Center,
and it has undergone a major face lift, having
been reconstructed, expanded and renovated.
State of the art equipment will be used in the
Mammography Institute to conduct screenings
and early detection diagnosis of breast cancer,
which will allow a more precise diagnosis of
breast cancer than in the past. Similarly, the
Institute is under national quality control of the
Mammography Institutes, headed by Prof.
Gadi Rennert. The renovation and expansion
of the Institute were made possible thanks to the
generous contribution of the Alsace and Feist
families in memory of the late Arena Feist-Alsace.
