<strong>Tourism</strong> in the Political and Economic Agendas<br />

• ITB is one <strong>of</strong> the biggest tourism trade platforms globally in<br />

South Africa<br />

• South African <strong>Tourism</strong> (SAT) had a stand at ITB and Minister<br />

<strong>of</strong>ficiated at the opening, addressed the Emerging <strong>Tourism</strong><br />

Entrepreneur <strong>of</strong> the Year Awards (ETEYA) finalists and hosted a<br />

meeting <strong>of</strong> Ministers from like-minded, long haul destinations<br />

at the SA Embassy in Berlin on the impact <strong>of</strong> aviation taxes<br />

on the countries respective tourism economies. A Joint<br />

Communiqué was adopted outlining the views<br />
