10. New/proposed activities<br />
The department has no new / proposed activities.<br />
<strong>11</strong>. Asset management<br />
The National <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Tourism</strong> received<br />
assets (furniture and computer equipment) from<br />
the <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> Environmental Affairs. This<br />
has been taken up in the asset register <strong>of</strong> NDT<br />
and was done in accordance with section 42 <strong>of</strong><br />
the Public Finance Management Act, 1999 (Act<br />
No.1 <strong>of</strong> 1999)<br />
All furniture and computer equipment procured<br />
in the <strong>2010</strong>/<strong>11</strong> financial year were added to the<br />
asset register.<br />
The furniture received from the <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />
Environmental Affairs will however be transferred<br />
back to Environmental Affairs after 1 April 20<strong>11</strong><br />
in accordance with section 42 <strong>of</strong> the Public<br />
Finance Management Act, 1999 (Act No.1 <strong>of</strong><br />
1999)<br />
The computer equipment will remain with NDT.<br />
12. Inventories<br />
The department has no store. All inventory items<br />
are direct purchases from the suppliers.<br />

objectives<br />
Predetermined objectives are measurable and<br />
are reported on a quarterly basis.<br />
15. SCOPA resolutions<br />
The department has no SCOPA resolutions.<br />
16. Prior modifications to audit reports<br />
None<br />
17. Exemptions and deviations received<br />
from the National Treasury<br />
No exemptions and deviations received from<br />
National Treasury.<br />
18. Other<br />
None.<br />
19. Approval<br />
The Annual Financial Statements set out on<br />
pages 71 to 108 have been approved by the<br />
Accounting Officer.<br />
13. Events after the reporting date<br />
The Accounting Officer <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>Tourism</strong> initiated a forensic audit investigation<br />
concernig the project implementers for misuse<br />
<strong>of</strong> state funds in respect <strong>of</strong> projects for the<br />
Expanded Public Works Programme. The forensic<br />
audit investigation has not yet been finalised.<br />
