7. Ano<strong>the</strong>r sect that is part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Modernist trend is <strong>the</strong><br />
'<strong>Hadeeth</strong>-Rejectors'. While <strong>the</strong> disease <strong>of</strong> ab<strong>and</strong>oning hadeeth is<br />
found amongst all modernists to varying degrees, hadeeth-rejectors<br />
have gone fur<strong>the</strong>r in <strong>the</strong>ir blanket rejection <strong>of</strong> ei<strong>the</strong>r all or most<br />
hadeeth, which is why <strong>the</strong>y innovate ideas even stranger to <strong>Islam</strong> to<br />
<strong>the</strong> extent that <strong>the</strong>y seek to re-interpret even basic worship like salaat<br />
<strong>and</strong> siyaam.<br />

8. 'Neo-<strong>Modernists</strong>' or Progressives. They are <strong>the</strong> new wave <strong>of</strong><br />
westernized-individuals claiming to be 'Muslim reformers', with a<br />
singular message to re-define <strong>Islam</strong> in a manner that suits <strong>the</strong><br />
sensitivities <strong>of</strong> Western culture <strong>and</strong> values.<br />
Amongst <strong>the</strong>m are U.S. or European based academics,<br />
journalists, self-styled activists, <strong>and</strong> o<strong>the</strong>rs - all enticed by <strong>the</strong><br />
lucrative opportunities arisen out <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> media's voracious appetite<br />
for apologetic muslims speaking about 'problems within <strong>Islam</strong>.'<br />
Some <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se individuals are not even from Muslim<br />
backgrounds like those who are Ismailis or Qadianis; or o<strong>the</strong>rs who<br />
are so<strong>of</strong>i charlatans, raafidah, Iranian communists, Egyptian<br />
modernists, or o<strong>the</strong>r non-practicing secular individuals with<br />
rudimentary knowledge <strong>of</strong> <strong>Islam</strong>.<br />
Toge<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong>y form a political movement dubbed<br />
'Progressive Muslims' that has no consistent aims or agenda apart<br />
from making statements that are opposed to <strong>Islam</strong> or Muslim<br />
interests, like having a women lead a mixed ga<strong>the</strong>ring <strong>of</strong> men <strong>and</strong><br />
women for a Friday khutbah at a church, to invite a Christian pastor to<br />
give <strong>the</strong> Friday khutbah, to express support for homosexual<br />
marriages, to support <strong>the</strong> banning <strong>of</strong> niqaab <strong>and</strong> to throwing<br />
accusations against <strong>Islam</strong>ic charities <strong>and</strong> organizations.<br />
