I accept myself for who I am. It took me a
long time to get here, and there were many
obstacles that I had to conquer to become the
person I am today, including learning how to
make decisions based upon my own needs and
desires.
Opportunities and Obstacles
Opportunities come our way all the time.
Unfortunately, unexpected obstacles can come
our way too. Being able to spot opportunities
and weather obstacles can be the difference
between achieving success and descending
into failure.
The choices we make today will guarantee
tomorrow’s outcome. Sometimes, though, we
let emotions like fear and uncertainty cloud
our judgment and get in the way, and we make
decisions using poor judgment.
The FIRST Life-Altering Decision
I always knew I was going to go to college. I
lived in Las Vegas, Nevada and was attending
Eldorado High School. I studied hard to prepare
to go to a great college to “BE SOMEBODY!”
I applied to several colleges and was excited that
I had been accepted at several schools. I chose
to attend the University of Southern California.
I was filled with anticipation and was looking
forward to going away. Everything was going
great and I felt like I was going to conquer the
world. Then, in my senior year, I fell in love with
