Looking Forward
Years have passed since I crossed the scariest
bridge of my life. If you would have told me back
in 2001 that I would one day discover a passion
for marketing and strategy, let alone that I would
have a Masters in interaction design, an MBA,
a brand new kidney, a handsome husband, a
charming new seeing-eye dog named Nettie,
and that Hamlet would be happily retired after
nine years of faithful service, I would have
laughed at you.
Life showed me that I was wrong to think that
any of that was impossible. Experiencing the
dichotomies of the visual and non-visual world
first-hand gives me an advantage when it comes
to designing mainstream technology that is
accessible to everyone, and it is rewarding for
me to share my stories with audiences. You too
can make it across the bridges that lay before
you. I am sure of it.
