return, knowing what everyone would think of
me.
That is when I realized that I was about to make
a bad decision based on the wrong criteria
again. I needed to make a decision based on
what I wanted – NOT based upon what other
people wanted for me or thought of me.
I made my decision to move back to Las Vegas
because that is what I wanted. It made sense,
considering the fact that I was broke and could
live with my family. I still wasn’t sure what I
was going to do. I could decide that later.
I had resolved to never again put myself in a
situation where I felt stuck and hated everything
about my work. I did not want to ever take a job
just as a way to pay my bills.
A New Opportunity
Once back in Las Vegas and working a regular
“job,” I found myself with an opportunity to start
my own event planning company. I questioned
myself: “Start a company? How? Doesn’t it take
a lot of money to start a company? What about
office space?” I don’t have any money. I’ve never
done anything like this before. I could never
be a boss! I don’t know anything about event
planning. NO WAY!”
The doubts came pouring into my mind. But,
the opportunity sounded interesting and I
thought it might even be fun. I wrote a business
plan. Finally, I thought, writing all those
