who swam, hiked, or climbed their way out of
a terrifying situation to get help, you too must
seek the help of others to get you on the road
to success. If someone doesn’t know you are
drowning in despair, they won’t know to throw
you a lifeline.
In 2008, my financial health was poor. I was
offered a job in Las Vegas, which would mean
relocating from Georgia where I had been
staying temporarily with my sister. My plan
for relocating and moving in with a friend who
lived in Las Vegas fell apart. I was devastated.
Suddenly, I had to scramble to find my own
place. As much as I hated to ask, I got help from
my family. Within just one year, I was back on
my feet. I was not only able to repay my loan, I
also bought my first house!
Let Go of Your Ego
Some people have trouble letting go of their
ego when it comes to asking for help. They
are afraid of what others may think of them.
