volume magnetostriction 1. The decrease in the
total volume of certain ferromagnetic substances
under the influence of a magnetic field. 2. The increase
in the total volume of certain ferromagnetic

volume range Unit, decibel (dB). The difference between
the maximum and minimum volume levels
that a device or system can accommodate.
volume recombination rate Within the volume of
