The student assumes the primary responsibility for completing the course within the initial or extended time limit andunder the criteria established by the instructor. The "I" will be changed to the agreed upon grade if the specifieddeadline is not met.Requirements to resolve the incomplete must be completed by end of the following long term. Whether or not thestudent is enrolled during the following long term has no bearing on this date. One extension is allowed. Total time ofIncomplete, with extensions, may not exceed 1 calendar year. Incompletes must be processed in time to allow theinstructor to submit the Incomplete Grade Form to the Registrar's Office along with the final grade roster of the class.Failure to fulfill all requirements of an ―Incomplete‖ where no agreed upon grade was specified should requirementsnot be completed will result in a grade of ―F.‖Return to Table of ContentsPass/Fail PolicyThe pass/fail option is available in a course only if the catalog course description or the course syllabus specifies thisoption. If a given courses permits either a letter grade or pass/fail grade, the student must declare, at the time ofenrolling in the course, the grading method to be applied. The declaration is to be filed in the Registrar's Office.Students may not change the pass/fail status after enrolling in a course.7.21 Repeating <strong>Course</strong>sStudents may elect to repeat any course(s). While the previous grade in a repeated course continues to be included onthe transcript, only the higher of the two grades will be used in computing the grade point average. A course taken at<strong>Concordia</strong> <strong>University</strong> Texas must be repeated at <strong>Concordia</strong> <strong>University</strong> Texas if it is intended to replace an earliergrade. Unless otherwise specified in the course description, regardless of how many times the student passes thecourse, the credit hours for a repeated course will only be counted once.Return to Table of Contents7.22Grading System and Final <strong>Course</strong> GradesGrading System<strong>Concordia</strong> uses the following grades:A ExcellentCE Credit by ExaminationB Above AverageCR CreditC AverageNC No CreditD Below AverageP Passing (for Pass/Fail <strong>Course</strong>s)F FailureW WithdrawalI IncompleteNR No grade recordedNote: The Graduate Program does not award the grade of "D".Grades of I, CE, CR, NC, P, and W are not used in computing a student's cumulative grade point average. However,the hours may count toward attempted hours as stated in <strong>Concordia</strong>‘s Standard of Progress policy.End-of-Term <strong>Course</strong> GradesFinal <strong>Course</strong> Grades are posted to the student‘s secure on-line account within 7 to 10 business days after the officiallast day of the term.Return to Table of Contents7.23 GraduationGraduation ApplicationCandidates for a <strong>Concordia</strong> <strong>University</strong> Texas degree or the Lutheran Teacher's Diploma must file a writtenGraduation Application with the Registrar's Office at the start of the final term in which the work is to be completedand the diploma/certificate is to be awarded. If the student does not complete the work in the term when theapplication was filed, the application will remain valid for the following term/graduation period (fall, spring, orsummer). If the student fails to complete their work in the following graduation period, they will have to reapplyfor graduation in the term when the work is completed. The Graduation Application is available in theRegistrar's Office or on the web site.Submitting the graduation application initiates a comprehensive degree audit. When the graduation audit shows thatthe student is eligible to graduate and/or participate in commencement ceremonies, the student‘s account is billed forthe graduation fee (see fee schedule section) and notification of the outcome of this audit is sent to the student.
