Security items No documentation necessaryd. Accessibility Fire Prevention and Safety Funds can beauthorized for three basic items allowedin all schools. One accessible toilet foreach gender, one accessibleentrance (parking to main level),and one high/low electric watercooler. These 3 items must belocated at the accessible (main)floor only.School buildings shall comply withthe Illinois Accessibility Code,SubPart F: Public Facilities -Alterations, for element or spacebeing altered.5. Building replacement A school district may replace a school building orbuild additions to replace portions of a building whenit is determined that the effectuation of therecommendations for the existing building willcost more than the replacement costs. Suchdetermination shall be based on a comparison ofestimated costs made by an architect or engineerlicensed in the State of Illinois. The new building oraddition shall be equivalent in area (square feet)and comparable in purpose and grades servedand may be on the same site or another site. Suchreplacement may only be done upon order of theregional superintendent of schools and the approvalof the State Superintendent of Education.4-12
