Byenabling people awareness in applications, this allows FME employees tocollaborate in the following ways:►►►See if the authors of a specific document are online and available tocollaborateInitiate instant messaging and Web conferences with other online colleagues,within the same context of a specific applicationIdentify who is using the same document you areHere are some of the specific business unit requests:► Enable the customer tracking application with people awareness. This wouldmake it easier for call center attendants to identify and collaborate with othercolleagues related to a specific customer.► The engineering department would like to have the incident trackingapplication enabled with people awareness. This feature would make it easierto identify additional technical support people involved on specific incidentsand then collaborate to solve the issue more efficiently.► The manager of the financial unit wishes to enable presence awareness tomore effectively collaborate and communicate with the many different peopleinvolved in each customer invoice. Questions can be resolved quickly.► Finally, presence awareness within the logistics department application willfacilitate communication and further ensure consistent and reliable service.Ultimately, each business unit’s goal is to increase productivity through instantmessaging, presence awareness, and real-time collaborative capabilities.Chapter 13.
