Several APP countries hold training seminars thatprovide instructions on how to implement certain provisions of the code such asspecifications on HVAC (e.g., Canada) or insulation (e.g., Japan). An Australian instituteeven hosts a training course specifically dedicated to instructing on how to ensurecompliance with mechanical services codes, standards and rating schemes of HVACsystems design (ABCB, 2009).Dissemination of information is one of the most effective, and at the same time mostinexpensive, methods for promoting code compliance. In the United States, it is crucialbecause of the varying codes adopted across the country. Since the early 1990s, DOE hashosted a website (www.energycodes.gov) that provides free education and trainingmaterial as well as software in support of the latest IECC and ASHRAE 90.1 codes (DOE,2008a).
