Romanian students confrontedtheir work with directors from France, Great Britain, USA, Italy, Germany. The jury became an international one, madeof directors, producers, critics, photography, directors, actors.The fourth edition has as special guests Andre Ceuteriek, president of the Namur Festival, Paolo Sornaga, Director at theInstitute of Sound and Image in Paris, Mircea Veroiu, Romanian director, Irina Movila, actress.Starting with 1995, the Festival had over 250 short film in the competition. Important personalities were invited to participateat the fifth edition: Bertrand Tavernier, Charlotte Rampling, Nikita Mihalkov, Stere Gulea, Victor Rebengine, Dan Pita.The president of honour of the sixth edition was the Romanian actor Stefan Iordache. The jury was president by Mr. EmilLoteanu and Marisa Berenson was the special guest of the festival.The seventh edition had very important guests: Christophe Lambert, Giuliano Gemma, Nicolas Wadimoff and Denis Chouinard,Jean Emes and Tim Jones (producers of Pink Floyd’s video-clips), Simona Maicanescu, Ion Caramitru.Last year we invited personalities of the Cannes, Barritz, Montreal, Berlin festivals. The great composer Goran Bregovic,opened this edition with a concert which tacked place at the Great Hall Palace.Important personlities were members of this edition’s jury: Michel Coulombe (Canada, President of the Montreal Festival),Denis Chouinard (Canadian Director), Vincent Maraval (Director of the French Channel „Canal +”), Elina Lowensohn (actress,„Schindler’s List”, France), Jaromil Jires (voice minister of Czech Cultural Minister, director), Thomas Ciulei (director), MihaiOroveanu (Director of the National Ezhibition Office of Bucharest), Lucia Hossu (Romanian TV), Radu Nicoara (director).The last edition had about 250 shorts films in the competition in two sections: fiction and documentary.Besides the usual program there were some other very important events like:1. The concert of the Mr. Goran Bregovic,2. „Train de vie” a film by Radu Mihaileanu, a french-romanian production,3. „La Bande Video” a troupe from Canada who presented a spestacole on ice,4. „Dolce far niente” (an italo-franco production) by young Romanian director Nae Caranfil.He received the prize for the best script in the Namur Festival,5. a retrospective of the Czech film, an event dedicated to „The Spring of Prague”,Each year the festival enjoyed a huge press promotion.
