This self-aligning feature allows the Super Smart andFigure 8LOADFigure 660 CaseLinearRaceSuper Ball Bushing Bearing Self-Alignment FeatureSuper Ball Bushing bearing to absorb misalignment caused byinaccuracies in housing bore alignment or 60 Case LinearRacedeflection. This rocking capability also provides smooth entry and exit ofthe precision balls into and out of the load zone assuring aconstant low coefficient of friction. By compensating formisalignment, each bearing ball in the load carrying area isuniformly loaded providing maximum load capacity.Besides this rocking capability, only the Super Smart BallBushing Bearing provides two additional self-alignmentfeatures. They are Roll and Yaw.0.5ºDouble track bearing plates (roll) to evenly distribute theload on each of their two ball tracks.YawThe shape formed by the Rock and Roll features allows theSuper Smart Ball Bushing bearing plate to rotate about itscenter (Figure 9). This allows the Super Smart Ball Bushingbearing to absorb skew caused by misalignment. The result isa constant low coefficient of friction and maximum bearingperformance. The diagrams below describe the conditions to which SuperSmart and Super Ball Bushings automatically self-align. It isimportant to note that even though the Super Smart and SuperBall Bushing bearings self-align, they still cannot absorb anout-of-parallel 60 Case* LinearRace* condition. Tolerance to60 Case LinearRace out-of-parallelism is a function of clearancebetween the bearing and its 60 Case LinearRace.Figure 7HardenedPrecision RingDoubleLip Wiper0.5ºBearing plates rotate about their center to preventskewing relative to the 60 Case LinearRace. This feature allows the bearingplate to compensate for torsional misalignment and evenlydistribute the load on each of its two ball tracks.
