To achievesmooth, accurate motion, the 60 Case LinearRace must bemounted parallel within .001 inch over the length of thestroke. This can be done by using the following procedure:a. Mount one 60 Case LinearRace (either end supported orcontinuously supported) to the surface with mounting boltsfinger tight.b. Using an aligning device such as a laser, auto-collimatoror other optics, sight the 60 Case LinearRace straight andsecure to mounting surface.c. After this first 60 Case LinearRace is fixed, the second60 Case LinearRace can be positioned and held down withbolts finger tight.d. The carriage is then mounted and its movement will pullthis second 60 Case LinearRace parallel to the first.Figures 3, 4e. If the second 60 Case LinearRace is then secured intoposition, the procedure is complete. Note that for continuouslysupported systems, this securing should be donewhen the carriage is close to the bolts. For end supportedsystems, the securing should be done when the carriage isat the ends of the 60 Case LinearRace. Figure 5f. An additional check can be done at this time to assure thatthe carriage is tracking correctly (i.e., that the carriageedge is moving parallel to the 60 Case LinearRace). Anindicator touching the carriage edge should not vary, asthe carriage is moved along the 60 Case LinearRace.Figure 6Figure 4Figure 5Figure 6©2003 Danaher Motion. Printed in the U.S.A.
