Since it is assumed that all readers may notbe familiar with astronomy, many lessons contain readiness exercises and backgroundinformation. These activities are classified as teacher idea, teacher page, teacherdirectedactivity or activity card. Although those pages labeled as activity cardsare intended as student activities, you may wish to direct a portion of them.Answers to the exercises are provided, and a method for solution is suggested forsome problems. Some lessons contain additional information for the teacher in blue.A glossary of terms, an annotated bibliography of souFces and a sheet which listsnumerical data for the solar system are also included.This section could be used to supplement a science unit on astronomy or byindividual students expressing an interest in the subject.
