D07A CORTICOSTEROIDS, PLAIN<br />

The group is subdivided according to clinical potency of the steroids as<br />

such. Additional agents meant to enhance the penetration <strong>and</strong> increase<br />

the potency of the product do not influence the <strong>classification</strong>, neither do<br />

the strength of the preparations or the vehicle.<br />

D07AA Corticosteroids, weak (group I)<br />

D07AB Corticosteroids, moderately potent (group II)<br />

D07AC Corticosteroids, potent (group III)<br />

D07AD Corticosteroids, very potent (group IV)<br />

D07B CORTICOSTEROIDS, COMBINATIONS WITH ANTISEPTICS<br />

This group comprises combined corticosteroid/antiseptic preparations<br />

<strong>for</strong> dermatological use.<br />

For most antifungal preparations with corticosteroids, the primary<br />

indication is mycosis <strong>and</strong> not inflammation. These products should be<br />

classified in D01A - Antifungals <strong>for</strong> topical use. Corticosteroids,<br />

antiseptics <strong>and</strong> salicylic acid in combination are classified in D07X.<br />

The group is subdivided according to clinical potency, see D07A.<br />

Exceptions, see D07. At each 5th level various antiseptics may occur.<br />
