The parenteral <strong>DDD</strong> <strong>for</strong> fosfomycin is based on the use of a single<br />

prophylactic dose in connection with surgery, whilst the oral <strong>DDD</strong><br />

is based on treatment of uncomplicated lower urinary tract<br />

infections.<br />

The <strong>DDD</strong> <strong>for</strong> spectinomycin is based on the use of a single dose <strong>for</strong><br />

treatment of uncomplicated gonorrhea.<br />

The <strong>DDD</strong> <strong>for</strong> methenamine is based on prophylaxis of urinary tract<br />

infections. The <strong>DDD</strong>s <strong>for</strong> m<strong>and</strong>elic acid <strong>and</strong> nitroxoline are based<br />

on the treatment of acute urinary tract infections.<br />

J02AA Antibiotics<br />

The <strong>DDD</strong>s are based on the treatment of systemic mycosis.<br />

The <strong>DDD</strong> <strong>for</strong> amphotericin B is based on the conventional<br />

<strong>for</strong>mulation. Dosages of other <strong>for</strong>mulations (e.g. liposomal) of<br />

amphotericin B may vary considerably. This should be taken into<br />

consideration when comparing drug use.<br />
