The <strong>DDD</strong> <strong>for</strong> the combination of levodopa <strong>and</strong> decarboxylase<br />

inhibitor is based on the content of levodopa, see <strong>ATC</strong> index.<br />

N04BB Adamantane derivatives<br />

N04BC Dopamine agonists<br />

Bromocriptine used in parkinsonism is classified in this group (e.g.<br />

tablets of 5 mg <strong>and</strong> 10 mg). Low strength bromocriptine tablets (e.g.<br />

2.5 mg) used as a prolactine inhibitor are classified in G02CB -<br />

Prolactine inhibitors.<br />

Cabergoline used in parkinsonism is classified in this group (e.g. tablets<br />

of 1 mg). Low strength cabergoline tablets (0.5 mg) used as a<br />

prolactine inhibitor are classified in G02CB.<br />

Lisuride in high strength <strong>for</strong>mulations (e.g. 0.2 mg tablets), which is also<br />

used in the treatment of Parkinsonism, are classified in G02CB while<br />

lisuride in low strength <strong>for</strong>mulations (e.g. 25 mcg tablets) are classified<br />

in N02CA.<br />

N04BD Monoamine oxidase B inhibitors<br />

N04BX Other dopaminergic agents<br />

This group comprises dopaminergic agents which cannot be classified in<br />

the preceding groups.<br />

The combination of levodopa, decarboxylase inhibitor <strong>and</strong> COMT<br />

inhibitor is classified in N04BA - Dopa <strong>and</strong> dopa derivatives.<br />

N05 PSYCHOLEPTICS<br />

The group is divided into therapeutic subgroups:<br />

N05A - Antipsychotics<br />

N05B - Anxiolytics<br />

N05C - Hypnotics <strong>and</strong> sedatives<br />
