It is. Except the destination network and subnetmask are all zeros. In the router world, that means a default gateway. Doesa router have to have a default gateway? No. Switch A, B, and C didn't needone. Not all routers will need a default gateway. It all depends on yourinfrastructure.Well, that was a lot of work, but I'm sure glad that's over. Can you imagine configuringstatic routes like that on...10 routers? How about 50? How aboutseveral hundred thousand? Good thing the Internet doesn't use static routes!We'll get into that later. What's the alternative?Dynamic Routing ProtocolsThe whole point of a dynamic routing protocol is to provide a way for routers toshare what they know. With static routes, we had to manually configure eachof the routes we wanted in each router's routing table. With dynamic routingprotocols, we let the routers do the talking.Let's go back to our earlier example.
