Configuring Transparent Cache SwitchingTo configure TCS local to a specific interface, use the following commands:SLB-ServerIron#conf tSLB-ServerIron(config)#ip policy 1 cache tcp 80 localSLB-ServerIron(config)#int e 3SLB-ServerIron(config-if-3)#ip-policy 1Here, we've applied TCS only to interface e 3.Defining Cache ServersCache servers are defined in a very similar way to real servers and virtualservers:SLB-ServerIron#conf tSLB-ServerIron(config)#server cache-name Cache1 10.2.3.4The “server cache-name” defines this as a cache server. I've given it the name“Cache1.” Finally, we've listed its IP address.Cache-GroupsA cache-group is a collection of cache servers. It is applied to the interfacesthat are accepting web requests. In our example, this is the interface that connectsthe ServerIron to the LAN (e5). Up to four cache-groups may be definedon a single ServerIron. Each cache-group may contain up to 254 servers. Toconfigure the cache-group:SLB-ServerIron#conf tSLB-ServerIron(config)#server cache-group 1SLB-ServerIron(config-tc-1)#cache Cache1SLB-ServerIron(config-tc-1)#cache Cache2This group (“1”) contains two cache servers (“Cache1” and “Cache2”). Finally,we need to apply this group to the interface sending web requests to theServerIron:SLB-ServerIron#conf tSLB-ServerIron(config)#int e 5SLB-ServerIron(config-if-5)#cache-group 1This can be applied to as many interfaces as you need. In our example, there isonly one interface: e 5.By default, all interfaces are applied with cache-group 1 (making the exampleunnecessary). If you want to remove this application from any interface, youcan either assign a different cache-group to the interface, or, in the interfaceconfig, enter no cache-group 1.TCS is now configured. Verify the configuration and caching statistics using thecommand show cache.Brocade IP Primer 367
