Autonomous Systems (AS)This still doesn't account for RIP learning routes from OSPF. This is done withthe following command:BR-Switch#conf tBR-Switch(config)#router ripBR-Switch(config-rip-router)#redistributionRIP isn't specific. This command essentially says, “Hey, collect all of the routeslearned by any other routing protocol, and add them to my list to advertise tomy RIP buddies.”What else? What if you want to include other connected routes of interfacesthat are not participating in OSPF? You will need this command:BR-Switch#conf tBR-Switch(config)#router ospfBR-Switch(config-ospf-router)#redistribution connectedAnd what about static routes? Let's say you want to include those as well? Youshould be able to guess by now, but in case you can't:BR-Switch#conf tBR-Switch(config)#router ospfBR-Switch(config-ospf-router)#redistribution staticAn ASBR may also summarize the routes that it knows about to make it easieron the OSPF routers its advertising to. After all, if you don't need to clutter theirroute tables with the details, why would you? Let's say you had an ASBR thatknew routes for 10.1.0.0/18, 10.1.64.0/18, 10.1.128.0/18, and 10.1.192.0/18. Instead of advertising all four of these routes, it could summarize theminto one (after all, the OSPF routers can only get there through the ASBR):BR-Switch#conf tBR-Switch(config)#router ospfBR-Switch(config-ospf-router)#summary-address 10.1.0.0/16Brocade IP Primer 247
