Pete & Associates, Inc. does a lot of Internet communication with its partner,Globex Corporation. Globex Corporation hosts a series of servers that areall over the Internet (they're constantly expanding). The unique feature of Globex'sservers is that communication always takes place on TCP 31416. Toaccommodate this communication, H. Pete & Associates bought a dedicatedDS-3 (45 Mbps) circuit to the Internet through ISP A. It was also obvious thatthere would be employees who might need to perform other functions on theInternet (e.g., research, personal, etc.). It was mandated that this DS-3 only beused to communicate with Globex Corporation. For all other communication,H. Pete & Associates has purchased a DSL line (768 Kbps) to ISP B.How can we fill the requirement to send only Globex-bound traffic through theDS-3, and all other traffic through the DSL line? This is where Policy-BasedRouting can help. We need to perform a few steps to enable it:1. Create an ACL that matches the traffic requiring PBR2. Create a route map3. Match the route map to the ACL4. Define the policy5. Apply the route map (globally or locally)Brocade IP Primer 305
