CATALYTIC OXIDATION OF MODEL LIGNIN COMPOUNDSIN ACIDIC MEDIUMPovarnitsyna T.V., Popova N.R., Bogolitsyn K.G., Beloglazova A.L.,Varakin E.A.Arkhangelsk State Technical University, Arkhangelsk, 163002, RussiaNorthern Dvina emb. 17, tpovarnitsyna@yandex.ruPP-45One of the ways to intensify treatment of plant biomass and lignin-containingsubstances is to catalysis by ions and complex compounds of metals of variablevalency. One of perspective directions in this area is application polyoxometalates(POM) as catalysts, which catalytic action in process of oxidation lignin compoundswas revealed during the process of search and creation of new chlorine – freetechnologies in bleaching [1].The purpose of the given work is the establishment ofthe main rules in process of catalytic oxidations of lignin compounds by the dissolvedmolecular oxygen in acidic medium using POM as a catalyst. In this connection, influence of the duration of oxidation, the nature of oxidized compound and catalyst,рН of solution were investigated. Earlier we carried out the investigations aboutestablishing of the main rules in process of catalytic oxidations of model lignincompounds [2]. Low – modificated dioksanlignin and technical sulfate lignin wereused as a oxidized compounds, sodium vanadomolybdophosphate (HPA-5) and Mncontainsodium vanadomolybdophosphate (HPA-5-Mn) were used as a catalysts.Process controlled by the changing in functional structure of the allocated products ofoxidation which defined by standard methods [3]. As a result, the main rules andoptimal conditions of the catalytic oxidation process of lignin compounds weredetermined; catalytic reactivity of catalysts was detected; it was showed, that theHPA-5-Mn is more effective than HPA-5; at researching of catalytic oxidation processof lignin it is possible to use the same methods, as at studying of process of oxidationof model lignin compounds – that speaks about the same of main rules and factors, which affected on the oxidation process.Grant RFBR №08-03-98803.[1].
