PP-1THE ORTHO – PARA CONVERSION OF PROTIUM ONTHE NANOS-PARTICLS OF PLATINUM AS THE CATALYSTAntonov A.Yu. 1 , Boeva O.A 2 ., Revina A.A. 3 , Shaymukhametova G.R. 1 ,Sergeyev M.O. 1 , Zhavoronkova K.N. 11 D.I. Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia, Moscow, Russia2 «Engineering center «Russian gas centrifuge»», Moscow, Russia3 Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry of Russian Academy ofSciences, Moscow, RussiaAn importance of hydrogen as a source of energy will increase owing to it’s highheating capacity, inexhaustible resources and ecological purity of products ofburning. Using of liquid hydrogen in energetic, aviation and cosmic technique etsputs forward the problem of it’s storing and transportation. This problem is connectedwith ortho-para conversion of hydrogen. It is known that H 2 -moleculs exist in twomodifications: o-H 2 and p-H 2 with different nuclear spins. Spontaneous ortho-paraconversion in liquid hydrogen leads to losses of product due to the heat of reactionwhich is more than the heat of evaporation. This losses may be about 7% weekly [1]and 70% of all losses [2]. That’s why it is necessary to carry out this reaction in gasphase previously at 77K and 20K with help of catalyst. The aim of this work is to find an active catalyst for o-p conversion at lowtemperatures. The method of synthesis of Pt-nanos-particles in inversed micellar solution andpreparation of high dispersed catalyst – Pt mic / γAl 2 O 3 have been developed.Formation of nanos-particles of Pt in solution, their stability in the time and theiradsorption on the surface of the carrier (γAl 2 O 3 ) were controlled byspectrophotometer. Sizes of inversed micelle in solution were determined by thepower microscope. Surface of adsorbed nano-particles on the carrier was determinedby the chemisorption of hydrogen at 77 K. The full surface of catalyst was measuredby physical adsorption of nitrogen. The catalyst was found to have high specific catalytic activity for ortho-paraconversion at 77K. This activity does not depend on temperature (activation energyabout 0). They may be recommended to carry out this reaction in practice at 77K andmore low temperatures.88
