T HE H IGH-DENSITY A UDIO I/O 5-13The High-Density Audio I/OThe HD I/O is an input/output box for connecting DVD CreatorWorkstations equipped with SonicStudio HD to external digital audiodevices.Housed in a single-space rack-mountable chassis, the HD I/O accommodatesup to eight channels of 24-bit digital audio at standard clock speedsranging from 44.1 kHz to 96 kHz, or two channels at 192 kHz. It featuressub-nanosecond sample reclocking and jitter annulment for ultra-stable signaltransmission, and supports digital audio signal connections in all currentHigh-Density Audio formats — AES/EBU, double-speed AES, dual-wireAES and quad-speed AES.The number of available channels in SonicStudio HD is affected by thesample bit rate at which you choose to work. If you are working at 44.1 or48 kHz, two HD I/Os can be cascaded on a single HDSP card to provide upto sixteen channels of 24-bit digital audio.
