Driving Your <strong>Mazda</strong>Instrument Cluster and IndicatorsNOTEll(Standard meter)The od<strong>om</strong>eter and trip meter can bedisplayed as follows even when theignition switch is in the ACC orLOCK position.lDisplays for 10 minutes after theignition switch is turned to theACC or LOCK position fr<strong>om</strong> theON position.lDisplays for 10 minutes after thedriver's door is opened.(Black-out meter)When the ignition switch is in theACC or LOCK position, theod<strong>om</strong>eter or trip meters cannot bedisplayed, however, pressing theselector button can inadvertentlyswitch the trip meters or reset themduring an approximate ten-minuteperiod in the following cases:lAfter the ignition switch is turnedto the ACC or LOCK positionfr<strong>om</strong> the ON position.lAfter the driver's door is opened.When trip meter A is selected, pressingthe selector again within one second willchange to trip meter B mode.When trip meter A is selected, TRIP Awill be displayed. When trip meter B isselected, TRIP B will be displayed.The trip meter records the total distancethe vehicle is driven until the meter isagain reset. Return it to “0.0” by holdingthe selector depressed for more than 1second. Use this meter to measure tripdistances and to c<strong>om</strong>pute fuelconsumption.NOTEllOnly the trip meters record tenths ofkil<strong>om</strong>eters (miles).The trip record will be erased when:lThe power supply is interrupted(blown fuse or the battery isdisconnected).lThe vehicle is driven over 999.9km (mile).Od<strong>om</strong>eterThe od<strong>om</strong>eter records the total distancethe vehicle has been driven.Trip meterThe trip meter can record the totaldistance of two trips. One is recorded intrip meter A, and the other is recorded intrip meter B.For instance, trip meter A can record thedistance fr<strong>om</strong> the point of origin, and tripmeter B can record the distance fr<strong>om</strong>where the fuel tank is filled.5-30
