Interior ComfortClimate Control SystemNOTEAUTO switch indicator lightllWhen on, it indicates AUTOoperation, and the system willfunction automatically.When off, indicates the operation ofother switches such as the modeselector switch, fan control dial, A/Cswitch and windshield defrosterswitch. Other functions will continueto operate automatically.Fan control dialSlowFastThe fan has seven speeds. The selectedspeed will be displayed.Mode selector switchOFF switchPressing the OFF switch shuts off theclimate control system.Temperature control dialColdHotThe desired airflow mode can be selected(page 6-4).NOTEWith the airflow mode set toposition and the temperature controldial set at a medium temperature,heated air is directed to the feet and acomparably lower air temperature willflow through the central, left and rightvents.This dial controls temperature.Turn itclockwise for hot and counterclockwisefor cold.6-12
Interior ComfortClimate Control SystemA/C switchWith the AUTO or fan control dial ON,press the A/C switch to select the airconditioning (cooling/dehumidifyingfunctions) on or off.NOTEllSelection of A/C and A/C ECO isdone automatically. Although airconditioning and defogging ability isreduced, the A/C ECO function isdesigned to economize use of the airconditioning system.The air conditioner may not functionwhen the outside temperatureapproaches 0 °C (32 °F). (Indicatorremains on even when system is off.)Recirculated air position ( )Use this position when going throughtunnels, driving in congested traffic (highengine exhaust areas) or when quickcooling is desired.Outside air position ( )Use this position for normal conditionsand defogging.WARNINGThe Recirculated Air Position:Using the position in cold orrainy weather will cause the windowsto fog up. Your vision will behampered, which could lead to aserious accident. Do not use theposition in cold or rainy weather.AMB (Ambient Temperature) switchAir intake selectorPress the AMB button to display theambient temperature.Outside or recirculated air positions canbe selected. Press the switch to selectoutside/recirculated air positions.6-13
