In Case of an EmergencyEmergency TowingCAUTIONDo not use the hooks under the rearbumper for towing and tying down, asthey cannot hold the load and it willdamage the bumper.Tiedown HookCAUTIONDon't use the tiedown hook under therear for towing.It is designed ONLY for tying down thevehicle when it's being transported.Using it for towing will damage thebumper.NOTEHooksWhen towing with chain or cable, wrapthe chain or cable with a soft cloth nearthe bumper to prevent damage to thebumper.qTiedown Hook-Front1. Remove the tiedown eyelet and the lugwrench from the trunk (page 7-3).2. Wrap a flathead screwdriver or similartool with a soft cloth to preventdamage to the bumper and open thecap located on the front bumper.7-20
In Case of an EmergencyEmergency TowingCAUTIONThe cap cannot be completely removed.Do not use excessive force as it maydamage the cap or scratch the paintedbumper surface.3. Securely install the tiedown eyeletusing the lug wrench.CAUTIONIf the tiedown eyelet is not securelytightened, it may loosen or disengagefrom the bumper when tying down thevehicle. Make sure that the tiedowneyelet is securely tightened to thebumper.4. Hook the tying rope to the tiedowneyelet.7-21
