Be sure the vehicle is on a levelsurface.2. Warm up the engine to normaloperating temperature.3. Turn it off and wait at least 5 minutesfor the oil to return to the oil pan.4. Pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean, andreinsert it fully.FullOKLowCAUTIONDon't add engine oil over Full. Thismay cause engine damage.6. Make sure the O-ring on the dipstick ispositioned properly before reinsertingthe dipstick.The distance between Low and Full on thedipstick represents the following:Oil capacityL (US qt, Imp qt) 0.75 (0.79, 0.66)qChanging Engine Oil and FilterChange engine oil and filter according toScheduled Maintenance (page 8-3).Please act responsibly―protect theenvironment and take used oil to arecycling facility. Ask your dealer or aservice station for information.WARNINGHandling Used Engine Oil:Continuous contact with used engineoil is dangerous. It could cause skincancer. Always wash with soap andwater immediately after changing oiland filter.5. Pull it out again and examine the level.It's OK between Low and Full.But if it's near or below Low, addenough oil to bring the level to Full.CAUTIONRemove any oil splatter from theexhaust manifold, the exhaust pipe andthe shield. Oil left on these areas willsmoke when the engine is running.8-19
