In Case of an EmergencyFlat TireWARNINGLoose Lug Nuts:Improperly or loosely tightened lugnuts are dangerous. The wheel couldwobble or c<strong>om</strong>e off. This could resultin loss of vehicle control and cause aserious accident. Always securely andcorrectly tighten the lug nuts.Metric Studs and Lug Nuts:Because the wheel studs and lug nutson your <strong>Mazda</strong> have metric threads,using a non-metric nut is dangerous.On a metric stud, it would not securethe wheel and would damage the stud,which could cause the wheel to slip offand cause an accident. Be sure toreinstall the same nuts you removed orreplace them with metric nuts of thesame configuration.5. Store the damaged tire, using the tirehold-down bolt to hold it in place.Tire hold-down boltWARNINGIncorrect Tire Air Pressure:Driving on tires with incorrect airpressure is dangerous. Tires withincorrect pressure could affecthandling and result in an accident.Don't drive with any tires that haveincorrect air pressure. When youcheck the regular tires' air pressure,check the spare tire, too.NOTE(With Tire Pressure MonitoringSystem)A tire pressure sensor is not installed tothe temporary spare tire. The warninglight will flash continuously while thetemporary spare tire is being used (page5-23).NOTETo prevent the jack and tool fr<strong>om</strong>rattling, store them properly.Tire clamp6.
