Interior ComfortClimate Control SystemNOTEllThe displayed ambient temperaturemay vary from the actual ambienttemperature depending on thesurrounding area and vehicleconditions.Press the AMB button again toswitch the display from ambienttemperature to the temperature setfor the air conditioner.Windshield defroster switchPress the switch to defrost the windshieldand front door windows.qOperation of Automatic AirConditioning1. Press the AUTO switch. Selection ofthe airflow mode, air intake selectorand amount of airflow will beautomatically controlled.2. Use the temperature control dial toselect a desired temperature.ColdHotTo turn off the system, press the OFFswitch.NOTElllFor an optimal cabin temperature, setthe temperature close to “72°F”.Adjust to the desired temperature ifnecessary.Setting the temperature to maximumhigh or low will not provide thedesired temperature at a faster rate.When selecting heat, the system willrestrict airflow until it has warmed toprevent cold air from blowing out ofthe vents.6-14
Interior ComfortClimate Control SystemqWindshield Defrosting and DefoggingqSunlight/Temperature SensorThe fully automatic air conditionerfunction measures inside and outsidetemperatures, and sunlight. It then setstemperatures inside the passengercompartment accordingly. Don't obstructthe sensor.Sunlight sensorPress the windshield defroster switch.In this position, the position isautomatically selected, and the airconditioner automatically turned on. Theair conditioner will direct dehumidified airto the front windshield and side windows(page 6-4). Airflow amount will beincreased.WARNINGFoggy Windshield:Using the position with thetemperature control set to the coldposition will cause the outside of thewindshield to fog up. Your vision willbe hampered, which could lead to aserious accident. Set the temperaturecontrol to hot or warm position whenusing the position.Interior temperature sensorNOTEUse the temperature control dial toincrease the air flow temperature anddefog the windshield more quickly.6-15
