<strong>Health</strong> human resources data had already described the health personnels atdistrict/municipality and province, but only in government health facilities (healthoffices and their UPT and Ministry of <strong>Health</strong> and its UPT).1. Number and Ratio of <strong>Health</strong> PersonnelsOne of the elements that play a role in accelerating health development is theduty of health personnel in health care facilities in community. According to the datacollection of National Board of <strong>Health</strong> Human Resources Development andEmpowerment (Ind=Badan PPSDMK), personnels were recorded as many as 501,052people consist of 391,745 health personnels and 109,307 non‐health personnels.<strong>Health</strong> personnels consist of 42,467 medical staffs, 266,348 nursing staffs (169,797nurses and dental nurses, 96,551 midwives), 18,022 pharmaceutical staffs, 34,869public health staffs, 12,823 nutrition staffs, 2,587 physical therapists and 17,216medical technicians.Number of physicians were as many as 25,333 personnels, with a ratio of10.66 physicians per 100,000 population. Province with the highest ratio was DKIJakarta amounting to 34.37 physicians per 100,000 population, whereas the lowestratio was Banten at 5.05 physicians per 100,000 population. Province of DKI Jakarta had highest ratio of 12.35dentists per 100,000 population, while the lowest was South Sumatra with ratio of1.25 dentists per 100,000 population.
