There were rising rising trend of proportion of children from2005 to 2009. It slighly declined from 11.44% in 2009 to 11.19 in <strong>2010</strong>. Furtherinformation of leprosy are on Annex 3.22.f. YawsYaws may lead to disability when there are no proper case managementconducted. It is mostly found on areas with low accessibility of health care, and poorpersonal hygiene. Obstacle on accessing safe water may hinder eradication of yaws.The disease still remained as health burden although its prevalence was lowerthan 1 per 100,000 population. Yaws prevalence decreased dramatically from 2.21 in1985 to almost zero in 1995. After 1995, yaws control were no longer one of priorityprogram and the disease control were inadequate. Therefore yaws prevalence slowlydecreased after 1995. Cases and prevalence of yaws are given on the following Graph3.21.56
