Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR)Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is one of significant indicators on determiningpublic health status. The indicator describes number of women who died due topregnancy, delivery, and post partum (42 days after delivery) without consideringduration of pregnancy per 100,000 live births.MMR can be influenced by health status, education, ante natal care, and postnatal care. Sensitivity of MMR on measuring health care improvement making it asone of indicator using to assess health development.The IDHS in 2007 indicated that IMR during 5 years before survey is 228 per100,000 live births. It is lower than IMR based on IDHS in 2003 of 307 per 100,000live births.
