Currently <strong>Indonesia</strong> has 19 border districts, 33 smallislands and 183 outer populated islands areas (including remote). In <strong>2010</strong> thepercentage of disadvantaged areas was 36.8% (of 497 districts/municipalities)located in 27 provinces. Province with the highest percentage of the highest numberof underdeveloped districts was in West Sulawesi, amounting to 100%, followed byEast Nusa Tenggara Papua 65.2% and 93.1%. The number and percentage of districtslagging behind by province can be seen in Annex 2.7.Based on the underdeveloped areas, there have been drawn up some prioritiesin bordered districts and outer small islands in <strong>Indonesia</strong> by the Ministry ofUnderdeveloped Area Development, Republic of <strong>Indonesia</strong>. There were 38 districtsincluded in the priorities and the very priorities that were spread across 9 provincesin <strong>Indonesia</strong>.19
