the level of funding is not less than that of the previous year, and funds under thisprogramme are adequate for implementation of the plan.5.8 A ‘MsDP Empowered Committee’ in the Ministry of Minority Affairs appraises andapproves the projects in the plans. The Empowered Committee also serves as the OversightCommittee at the Centre and monitors the implementation of the programme. The StateLevel Committee constituted for implementation of the Prime Minister’s New 15 PointProgramme for the Welfare of Minorities headed by the Chief Secretary also serves as theOversight Committee at the State/UT to monitor the implementation of the programme.Status of Implementation5.9 The Multi-sectoral Development Programme was launched in 2008-09. Plans of allthe 90 MCDs districts have been considered, of which 63 districts plans have been approvedin full and 27 plans in part. An amount of ` 2588.34 crore was released since 2008-09 tillst31 December, 2011. The States/UTs under the programme are required to submit photographs of the ongoingand completed works from earlier releases while making request for release of subsequentinstalment of funds to the Ministry. Photographs of completed and ongoing projects forMCDs in respect of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, A&N Island, Bihar, Haryana, Jharkhand, J&K,Karnataka, Kerala, Manipur, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya, Orissa, U.P.,Uttrakhand, and West Bengal, States have been received and the same are uploaded on thewebsite of the Ministry.Meeting chaired by Secretary, Minority Affairs to review implementation of OSMSand Multi-sectoral Development Programme with representatives of States / UTsndheld on 22 September, 2011.24
