CHAPTER 16THE DURGAH KHWAJA SAHAB ACT, 195516.1 The Durgah of Khwaja Moin-ud-din Chishti at Ajmer in Rajasthan is a waqf ofinternational fame. The Durgah Khwaja Saheb Act, 1955, provides for the administration,control and management of the Durgah Endowment of the Durgah Khwaja MoinuddinChishty (R.A.). Under this Central Act the administration, control and management of theDurgah Endowment has been vested in a representative Committee known as the DurgahCommittee appointed by the Central Government. The said Act and Bye Laws are availableon the website: www.gharibnawaz.inAdministration of Durgah Khawaja Saheb Act, 195516.2 The Durgah of Khawaja Moin-ud-din Chishti at Ajmer in Rajasthan is of internationalfame. The Durgah is being administered under the Durgah Khawaja Saheb Act, 1955.The administration, control and management of the Durgah Endowment vests in the DurgahthCommittee. A new committee of the Durgah was constituted on 24 August, 2007.At present the following are the members of the Committee:1. Janab Prof. Sohail Ahmad Khan President2. Janab Mohammed Suhel Mohiyuddin Tirmizi Member16.3 Powers and Duties of the Durgah CommitteeTo administer, control and manage the Durgah Endowment.To keep the buildings within the boundaries of the Durgah Sharif and all buildings,houses and shops comprised in the Durgah Endowment in proper order and in astate of good repair.45
