Master’s Program 75nity in <strong>nursing</strong> and public health. This option is especially oriented to individuals whowish to combine careers in advanced <strong>nursing</strong> practice and public health that mightinvolve direct practice, planning, and policy making in a variety of health care systems inthe public health sector. The joint-degree option requires three years (four years for studentsin the Graduate Entry Prespecialty in Nursing) and awards a Master of Science inNursing and a Master of Public Health. Application is made after enrollment in theSchool of Nursing during the first specialty year. All students must meet with the associatedean for academic affairs and the chairperson of the master’s program prior to applyingto discuss the feasibility of the program of study.
